We will very rarely ask for you to confirm your identity for your Domain Name. However we will need to ask you to confirm your identity if you have forgotten or misplaced your Domain Manager login details and you aren't able to login, AND your contact details/email address have changed without keeping your contact details inside the Domain Manager up to date. Please note this is not the same as changing the 'legal registrant/owner' of the domain name, which you can do by clicking here.
To confirm your identity as an individual, you will need to send us a copy of ONE of the following, along with details of what you would like to change your Domain Manager accounts email address and contact details to, and it needs to be signed.
- Valid NZ drivers license
- Valid NZ Passport
Any other evidence that you are the legal registrant of the domain would be appreciated, such as past tax recipts of the domains registration/renewal.
If you are a company, then you will need to send us a certificate of incorporation for the company AND a letter printed with the companies letterhead and signed by one of the directors recorded with the NZ companies database. Also one of the directors of the company will need to send us either a copy of either a valid NZ drivers license or NZ Passport.
As this requires us to manually check and modify your details which can take a great deal of time at our end to confirm everything is correct, we do have to charge an administration fee of $25+GST ($28.75 inc GST). This is payable on submission of the request.
Documentation and payment can be sent to
PO Box 47116
Upper Hutt 5143
Please note that we cannot guarantee that the details you provide us will be enough evidence that you do own the domain, as we must be satisfied prior to changing any details. We will however contact you if we have any problems with the evidence you have provided us with.
