Why is email that I send to a Telecom email account, being marked as spam?
As reported widely in the media, Telecom New Zealand has subcontracted out their email service to the free USA owned email provider, Yahoo. This means that all email is now filtered by Yahoos antispam system, which marks a high level of legimate email as being spam. As Yahoo is a free provider, their antispam system has to deal with a very high level of spam, as a lot of spammers do setup disposable yahoo email accounts. This means that it is possible that some email that you send an @xtra.co.nz email account, may be marked as spam.

Telecom has produced a document on how to overcome this problem, which you can find at the following like
